The Health Science Academy is a three-year elective program designed to give students who are interested in the medical or health science field, an opportunity to gain specialized knowledge, and training in high school. –UC/CSU (“A through G”) required courses that demonstrate to colleges and universities the student is committed to education.
-3 Honors Courses (GPA boost)
–Extra Point on your Nursing School program application (Ex: CSUCI)
–Certification in American Red Cross First Aid, CPR and AED
–OSHA 10 hr Healthcare Course
–Clinical Skills – Suturing, Heart/Lung Sounds, EKG, Bandaging/Triage, etc…
–3-5 Field Trips per school year
–Internships – at hospitals, clinics and on-campus (Athletic Training)
We also have paper applications available in MO15/MO16 (behind the library) or in the Counseling Office with Mrs. Kawaichi.
